I need to get a Raymarine instrument (ST6002) repaired and as I live in Italy the cost of shipping is quite expensive and I would like to be sure that the company I send it to are reliable.

I am thinking of sending it to "The Service Centre" in Wareham; their web site is very professional and they seem to be very well organised.

So, my question is has anyone used them and are they as good as they seem??

Thanks in advance.
Alan.

You'll find a number of previous threads about the service centre. Most people, including me, seem to have had positive experiences. Some things they'll just send on to raymarine: My AIS for example which had a replacement main board. Interestingly sending it to the service centre and having them send it to raymarine worked out cheaper than sending directly to raymarine. They can't do everything. When I thought my old course computer was broken they said they couldn't source parts for it. Some old stuff they do still do (I recently had my anemometer serviced by them).

I've used Tinley Marine to repair a ST6000+ last year (older than your ST6001) and have only good things to say about them. They have a fixed 'initial charge' for which they will either repair it or give you an estimate.
