As I run a few printers, I have a few different build plates - mainly as I slowly roll out changes and updates.
The textured build plate on one of the Prusa's is a PEI sheet with a textured finish which gives a lovely effect to the base of the product, with what I mainly do that's a big bonus - one of the pilotage items I sell is a modular pontoon and finger model, the textured finish on that makes it look very nice indeed.
Other printers have a smooth PEI sheet and a glass sheet with again a PEI surface, both of those produce shiny surfaces.
Feedback from clients has been that they like the textured finish a lot.
