I recently replaced my ST60+ wind instrument with the latest i60 display. I noticed that when the i60 was in the sun the wind direction needle stuck. It released again when the instrument had cooled down.
I returned the unit to Raymarine and they sent me a complete new boxed display. When I fitted this I had the same problem of the pointer sticking in the sun.
So I rang them and was told that instruments made prior to August 2014 had this fault which had now been corrected. However the replacement instrument was dated 2015 and still had the fault.
I have just returned this one to them and await their response.
If you have one of these instruments you may not notice the fault since once it cools down the pointer works again.
I am a fan of Raymarine products and have many on board. I think they have a design/manufacturing problem with the i60 since the face is black and must get quite hot in the sun and probably expands and touches the pointer. The ST60+ (which I want to use as a below deck repeater) is much better and is now back in use, I wish I hadn't upgraded !
