Raymarine evolution autopilot

All, many thanks to everyone who offered advice on my Autopilot problems. It seems I might have found the answer, I think I have a damaged negative/ earth return cable. I checked on the main switch panel and tested out that I was getting a voltage from the load side of the breaker so I tested out with another negative connection nearby and the positive from the breaker to ACU 200 and got a circuit. I ran a temp from the battery negative for confirmation and it all powered up ok. I still need to level out the rudder linkages but I also figured out a fix for levelling that up, so a productive sunday all in all ! I also traced out where the 6mm negative return ended up so I will strip that out next time. I am off doing my day skipper practical Thursday- Monday so will get it all sorted week after next , thanks everyone again!

Hi all just thought I would give an update on the autopilot problems I was having. I levelled up the rudder linkages so they were perfectly level, went through the dockside wizard again and bingo it accepted the lock to lock settings and is fine now. Also found the issue with the ACU 200 a dodgy negative , I was using the original type 100 course computer cabling but there was a fault on the wiring. I ran a new 6mm negative back to the batteries and all is working fine now. Thanks to everyone for all the help and advice !!
