in the other thread about this problem, one posted to use this co for service in UK

(no personal experience and no connection)

I posted on this subject a week ago - I had exactly the same problem. I tried the service centre and they were considerably more expensive than Raymarine. I needed my CP repaired quickly as I'm taking the boat to the West Country next weekend. Raymarine were able to fix it in 24 hrs 'express service'. Its now back on the boat and working.

I called Raymarine UK's service dept today and they quoted me 15 days just to investigate the fault, never mind repair it, which would have meant that it would probably not been repaired for my next trip. I have also been in contact with the Raymarine agent in Antibes where the boat is based and they say they know the fault and can repair it so I've taken a chance and left them to attempt a repair in the hope that it can be done quicker. Fingers crossed then!

Thanks to all for your help

fwiw,
2 years ago, I had a problem on the E120 on our Karnic, (don't remember the symptoms)
replacing the small battery inside the unit cured the problem,
but it is a very old unit, has been sitting on a SQ58 in SOF in it's previous live ;-)
