Hi, I have standard through hull transducer connected to an itc5, the itc5 also has wind speed and direction and paddle wheel log and temperature sensors connection to it.
It all worked ok until today, now the depth isn't showing a realistic or stable depth, the depth reading cycles as though it can't lock onto the bottom.
The only thing I've done today is calibrate the speed log against the GPS, this may, of course, have nothing to do the depth reading misbehaving.
The depth transducer is new, just a few weeks old. The itc5 is about 6years old, and works ok on the wind and speed.
The light flashes on the itc5, (as it does for the other sensor) which I assume means it taking reading.
I've checked the connections on the itc5 and tried switching everything off and on.

Any ideas what might be wrong?

I had the same sort of problem on another product and that turned ot to be weed on the boat flapping infront of the transducer!

It's a through hull sensor, so I can't remove it without slipping the boats.
The transducer is at least 1.5 m in front of the keel, so it is unlikely that there's any weed covering it, I've also hit 8.5 knots today, which should clear most things.
The system has been powered down several times, including being off overnight.
And today, when out in a deep water loch, the system registered depths of over 100m and work OK in water depths over about 30m. So it only has a fault in shallow ish water, which is where I really need it to work.
I have 4G in the anchorage tonight, so I'll try phoning Raymarine tomorrow morning, but first I'll try switching off all the other electronics on board to check if it's an interference problem.
