Once proud owner of a ST 60 Maxiview (Yes I am shortsighted) had to realise with horror that the LCD Display of the unit cracked without any outside intervention (ie Winch handle, Deck monkey). Naturally Ray thinks otherwise and wants to charge me 450 EURO for the PIECE OF GLASS :((. Anyone being successful in tracking down an OEM replacement? They must be at a fraction of that cost.....

I had a similar problem with a Stowe multi unit, although in my case it was causewd by a winch handle. I replaced the glass with a piece of clear high impact poycarbonate and it was fine for about 5 years when I changes the whole system.

Cast me about 30p for the poly carbonate which was an off cut and about two hours work

Hmm. The case is okay but the LCD inside is cracked :((.
On a second note, since my system is Ray and Stowe. Do you still have your old Multi ?

I am trying to find out and had hoped someone has solved the mistery already.
The innards of ther system are very crude and unexciting in relation to the price tag of the thing. Simple Philips MPU a few RAM's and SED1520 and 1521 LCD driver. The LCD itself does not carry any part-number of an OEM manufacturer. So it might well be that Ray got that one taylor made which is daft since it is a Matrix Display and they could have used an off the shelve type easily. On the other hand if it is custom made, they can make tons of money if there is no OEM compatible on the market (450 EUR) for a otherwise 20 EUR item!)
