Hi All,
The seven pin plug on the cable for my RC435 Chartplotter has pulled apart. Easy enough to stick it back together but it can go back seven different ways, relative to the guiding keyway in the plug. The manual details each wire function but I can't work out the function of the pins on the plotter itself. As I'm afraid I could do damage trying to find out by trial and error I hope the combined wisdom of the forum can help me.

no wisdom from me, just good commonsense have you been on the raymarine site and searched thier manuals and FAQ's, there helpdesk was particulalry good for me

Normal etiquette is clockwise from the tag, but, not guaranteed.

I called RM enquiring about a spare cable so I could easily mount at the chart table, 17 squids, so you are right to persevere.

Just realised you are not so much bovverd about the numbers, but which colours go where....

If you have no answer by the weekend I will pin-out my cable and give you the results after the weekend. Cable is on the boat. Or, maybe better and more likely that I will 100% remember, telephone me while I am on the boat and I will read them out to you, that way you can talk to me while I have the cable in my hands.

Pm me if I can help you.

The other option is to e-mail RM, they are generally pretty quick, I think they run a 48hr response promise type thing.

p.s. If you do get the info from RM, please pass it on for my own possible future reference.

Info is here...

If you look at the manuals for other Raymarine kit which uses the same power/NMEA lead, you'll find all the info you need (eg the DS600X manual). Looking at the pins on the plug, they're numbered clockwise from the keyway, and the correct connection for each pin is listed..
