Raymarine Chartplotter C120

Hi

In the process of buying a boat new to me.

It has a C120 - 12" display chart plotter mounted on the wheel pedestal

I have 2 questions

1. where can I find a replacement screen cover as searching not coming up with anything.
2. what is the new replacement for this as the screen has some water ingress due to the cover above missing.

The sun cover is a discontinued part, but secondhand ones crop up on eBay from time to time (at silly prices!).

It would be possible to get your plotter repaired. However, if you're thinking of a replacement plotter, there's a huge choice on the market and you needn't necessarily stick with Raymarine. Note that if you have a radome connected, it almost certainly won't work with a newer plotter.

As pvb says, you have an upgrade issue if a radar is fitted as you would need to update both plotter and radar together as the radars now have a digital interface. A more recent plotter will not take the old analogue radar feed, and the C120 cannot display a digital radar. If you have other Raymarine devices (instruments, autopilot) networked it is also worth understanding the update implications as they will be connecting to your plotter via Seatalk1 which is not compatible with new plotters (converters to the latest SetalkNG/NMEA2000 and NMEA183 are available though).

Repair is possible. There’s a set up called the Service Centre, it advertises via eBay here https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/311560470996. They have a good reputation for reasonable prices.
If it proves impossible to repair then searching ebay for Raymarine C120 will give you several second hand ones plus the odd old stock new item. That has the advantage of being simple to replace: just remove the old one and fit the replacement.
