Raymarine C80 plotter, speed display help!

After having fitted a new sounder and module a few weeks ago, today was the first time I've been out in the boat to try it.
Everything worked like normal, except my speed, read 0.0 knots?? I had good satellite coverage, and my lat an long numbers kept changing as we moved along.

I've not adjusted any settings.

Does any body have any ideas why this has happened?

Sounds like its looking for a speed reference from a paddle wheel thats not present, or if you have one its not going round.
If you go into the data bar menu and select Vessel, you can then select SOG then it will use GPS for speed.

It sounds like the Data bar is set up to show speed through the water. It's simple to delete that box and add in a new one that shows SOG.

The C series can show both or either, if it is using, or trying to use the paddlewheel it will say "speed" is 0.00, if it is the GPS it will say SOG so it's easy to see which one it is. As has been said it is a simple matter to configure the dat bar to show either or both at the same time.

Very many thanks for all your comments and help. I dont have a paddle wheel for speed through the water, so it's obviously in the settings. I've been granted permission by SWMBO to play on the boat tomorrow, so I'll have a fiddle tomorrow.
