Although boat icon is in correct position at switch on, it does not move with the boat when under way.
Section 4-30 of the manual said:When you pan the chart, the motion mode is suspended. This is indicated in the status bar by ( ) around the motion mode and enables you to view another area of the chart whilst navigating. To reset the motion mode and return your boat to the screen, press FIND SHIP.
Yes I have a fix on the GPS which is shown at the top of the screen along with depth and log sped.Do you have a fix.
Thank you. I don't think I did scroll around. But will have to wait until I return to the boat to check your idea.Could this have happened after you scrolled around the chart to look at something? If you then just step away from the chartplotter then the chart will state centred wherever you left it - this is the expected and desirable behaviour otherwise you wouldn't be able to look at things when the boat is underway, because the chart would keep snapping back to have the boat in the centre whilst you're trying to use it. When you've finished scrolling you usually need to press "clear", "cancel" or "centre" - this depends on the chartplotter, I don't find the Raymarine manual very helpf… wait! I think it might be "FIND SHIP" on this model.
Assuming I've found the right manual, "Chart orientation" and "Motion mode" are shown at the top of the screen - see section 4-3 of the PDF manual, where it shows "North-Up (Relative Motion)".
Note also section 4-29 of the manual, "How do I set the orientation of the chart?" and "motion mode" and "offset" on 4-30.
