Hi Everyone?

We were out on the boat today and the RayMarine C120 ‘cursor’ button fell off.?
From the residue, it ACF379DE-4235-476B-BFC7-5C9969316508.jpeglooks like it was ‘glued-in’…….rather than held by a ‘gasket’.
The ‘cursor button’ is sitting in the lower right corner of the screen.

Does anyone know what ‘glue’ to use to fix it back in?

Call Raymarine. They used to be very helpful - this may have changed.

I called raymarine with mine. The old c/e classic/wide are out of support and they couldn't help other than to suggest trying 3rd parties
The Service Centre will fix this for you but they'll just order the canadian 3d printed part and charge you for fitting it

Thanks everyone for your helpful comments. ?

I haven’t tried to use it yet…….as I only noticed it was loose when refitting the sun-cover after yesterdays cruise.
The cap/cover of the cursor is un-damaged…….it’s just come away from the ‘housing’.

It looks like it was just held in place by a thin ‘string’ of glue around the perimeter…..so maybe I can stick it back on?

I’ll take a better look when I’m down on Saturday, as I’m not sure exactly which bit ‘pivots’.?

Ok……good news it still works!?

The Cursor button seems to consist of 2 concentric plastic rings and a round Centre button, held together by a thin plastic membrane.

The outer ring is fixed, the inner ring pivots to move the cursor, and the centre button provides the ‘click’ to confirm the ‘instruction’.

The plastic membrane, which holds these together (and I guess also acts as a waterproof barrier to the underlying circuits)
had aged and completely disintegrated. The ‘remains’ were what I had assumed were the ‘yellow strings of glue’.

The ‘Screen Cover’ has always been replaced when we left the boat.
It also has a T-top, so the plotter has never been exposed to direct sunlight.

Afraid my attempts today with cling film and my wife’s hairdryer………have been less than successful.?

Maybe I’ll try again…….if I can get some shrink-wrap??

Otherwise…..it looks like it’s going to be a trip to that Canadian 3D printer!

Thank you for all of your help and advice.?
John

I did the 3D printer route (Canada) with a C90W and got the unicontroller and new red power button. BUY Autopilot Replacement Parts | i3DGear or Ebay.
Delivery is super quick and secure.
Once the bezel is removed, replacement is a matter of seconds.
Removing the bezel was a lot easier than expected and I spent more time thinking about it and reading about it than it took to do ! If you treat it carefully and not with a lump hammer then it is easy and the whole job is done in about 15 mins.
Once done, it feels stiffer in use than the original (a function of the available materials I think) but it works great and has saved the plotter and likely the wider system. Very pleased to have done it.
