Can someone tell me if there is any difference between the Raymarine 6001+ and 6002+ autopilot controller or was it just a cosmetic facelift?
Thanks

The wiring connexions are the same.

The 6002 offers around 15 (seatalk-based) data pages as against around 8 on 6001.

I don't know if there are other functions in the 6002 which are needed for/depend on the Pilot computer being used - eg I understand latest Smartpilots offer "fishing pattern courses" which may require the 6002.

Regards, Mike

The fishing patterns are only activated when smart pilots are controlled with the st70. it doesn't get activated with the 6002. (it could be an option on the sportpilot for mobo, but havent checked that one) The other two heads are the 7002 and 8002. the 6002 head will offer 15 data pages to display from a total of up to 21 choices of data.
