Hi All.
Anyone have a raymarine49e VHF that stops receiving after a few mins. of being switched on?
The set transmits perfectly which leads me to think its not the antenna.Although I have checked the connections and continuity where I can. I have sent it back to the Suppliers who returned it saying that they can find no fault. The unit is one year old and should be under warranty, I just want to make sure I`m not missing anything. When the unit fails you have to leave it for some time before it will receive again and even then its not guaranteed to work.
Any thoughts appreciated.
Iain.

Thanks Nick..
The first link explains exactly the symptoms . Will be sure to quote when talking to Raymarine tomorrow

Ok.. Long story so as brief as I can. Luckily it was in warranty and Foxs, where I got the boat, had me send the unit back to them as they are main Raymarine Dealers. Unfortunately the Dentist syndrome kicked in and no fault found when it arrived so I got it back, refitted it and it lasted about half an hour. As I am in Ireland, Foxs apologetically suggested I send it to the Irish dealer (never again) and through him about 6 months later I got a new one from Raymarine.
It was that Ceramic filter thingy I think and would have cost almost as much as a new radio to repair. So my advice would be cut your losses and buy a new Icom and sleep soundly :)
