Just for interest, I crossed Ray Sand twice over the weekend. Both times I was around 100m West of the yellow buoy in the Crouch and the safe water buoy on the other side with a heading of 0°/180°. I know this isn't strictly the deepest section to cross, but I only draw 1m.
Crossing Friday 19th was bang on HW and I saw 3.3m total water depth at the shallowest point.
Crossing on Monday 22nd was exactly one hour before HW and saw 2.9m at the shallowest point.
My sounder is calibrated and offset to the water surface, so I am pretty confident of these readings.
