Hi. Given the ongoing stock availability issues for the Raspberry Pi 4 Model B, I was wondering if anyone has had satisfactory success using a Raspberry Pi Zero for running OpenCPN instead, or is it (as I suspect) definitely preferable to wait patiently for a 4B? TIA!

(Regretfully I doubt that this will be my last Pi related post!!! :))

The Rpi4b's do become available, i bagged two 4GB in late May, one each from www.pimoroni.com & www.thepihut.com at normal prices. Sign up for their stock alert emails. One of them does require you to be an existing customer though at the moment.

Also monitor Find Raspberry Pi computers in stock - rpilocator they also announce stock on twitter which is how i got alerted & bought staight away.

I can't imagine the zero being any use, even a 3b+ feels slow after a 4. The 3B+ has better availability if you are desperate though.

Availability is suposed to be much better by quarter 4 this year, its slowly improving.

Not sure about other outlets but Rapid is taking backorders now so you don't have to wait for stock alerts. I received my 8GB RPi4 last week after a 6 week backorder wait.
