One of my (three) engine little plastic warning light covers has broken, so I want to replace it.

But I can't replace it because it has been superseded. I need to buy three more lights and the cover within which they sit.

£46.00 + VAT

(amended!)

Jeez, you were quick. I was trying to delete the post as I had amended it but it would not delete. Not my day today.

Not the MAB but the slightly younger thing in Portugal.

Duplicate post deleted for you.

Can you post a Pic? I might be able to source something similar, at far less than £46+VAT

Rather pathetic rant.

I had a good one yesterday when a carpet fitter visiting next door parked across our drive. Our conversation concluded with me ensuring that he knew to park somewhere else when he comes to fit the carpet.

I think it went well.

But will his white van "fit" where you suggested?

I came home from work (a few years ago, as now retired) to find builders constructing a front porch on my neighbour's house. Problem was all the building material was dumped on my front lawn. They seemed surprised that I insisted they stopped what they were doing and move everything to my neighbours garden. It took hours and seriously delayed construction. Their excuse was that they assumed my neighbour had agreed it with me - as if I would !!!!!

Thought I did not have a photo but this may work:

That reminds me of something funny. Many years ago (40+) I used to drive rear dumps on the M62 motorway construction, we were shifting sand. Some guy came along and asked if anyone could let him have a bit of sand, cash in hand of course. Mate of mine took his 35 ton dump truck into the housing estate, without escort, and dropped 35 tons on his drive. Took the householder and his mates a couple of weeks with barrows to shift it.

You could use round lights which are available in all those colours, a small plastic piece to cover the rectangular holes and Bob's yer Mom's brother, but those rectangular warning lamps are available too at about £3 each http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Blue-12v-Rectangular-Indicator-Warning-Light-/110772874533?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item19ca93ed25

Wasn't a chandler, twas the sole UK dealer.

If it had been a chandler it would have been £146.00 + VAT.

Perhaps I should make it clear; I am not complaining about the cost of the replacement panel and three lights. I am more concerned with the apparent planned obsolescence of perfectly a good warning light system.
