I thought I'd use a random orbital sander to sand off the hull. Bought a 400 Watt one from Halfords. After about 4 hours, did half the hull then the disc seized. Took it back to Halfords and replaced it with the other one on their shelf.
That lasted 30 mins before it overheated and the disc flew off like a Frisbee -- could have had someone's eye out said Mr Elfnsafety.
Finished the rest of the hull off with a £3.95 orbital sander from Sainsbury's (couldn't resist buying it at Christmas!). Masses more vibration though.
Took the faulty one back to Halfords for a refund. It's the dust wot killed em. Mind you I was doing a fine Papa Smurf impression.
