A lovely day to be out for a run along the Solent. Our first trip to Bucklers Hard was (thankfully) uneventful and very pleasant. Difficult to proceed very long in a straight line though as so many boats were in the water today. I'm sure that as the weather improves today will seem empty in comparison.

A lot more mobo's about yesterday than we have seen so far this year tho.
I'd say we could see 3 or 4 at any one time. Earlier in the year we would be on our own.

Around the central Solent we had to weave around, but could continue at speed without passing too close to raggies.

There were more ships yesterday than I've seen for a bit, poor pilot trying to stop boats going between him and a big container ship.

Loads of mobo's in Chichester harbour yesterday, was the busiest day i've seen this year. Lots of dodge the raggie and the usual dodge a million little flappy jobs racing round in circles near the marina and Itchenor.

Anchored at East Head for a bit but wasn't the lovely warm day I had hoped for :-)

An epic voyage yesterday.

As decided by the crew, we managed to endure 6 inch waves to go from Hayling Island to Port Solent. The money I saved on diesel then got spent in the Italian :o

Spent last night in Lymington watching the raggies make a mess of mooring, we'll some of em anyway.

Came back today down Solent in windy showery cold'sh grey typical UK weekend weather...what do we have to do to get a nice calm warm sunny day??

Not many mobo's around at all......can't blame them really it was a p..ss poor sunday to be honest.

Left Cowes at around 11.00 am today helmed from downstairs all the way back to the Hamble entrance, the only 2 mobos I saw were 2 targa 47s leaving the Hamble, that was it!!

I do wonder that fuel at 1 pound a litre is having an effect on mobo boating now in the uk, why spend ££££ on fuel in this weather.

Yer just needs to think up an origional Title for the story

'The Italian Job' maybe?:D

Went out from Cobbs Quay first thing Saturday. Plenty of Mobos around and the sea was as smooth as a baby's bum.

Overtaken by a few more powerful beasts

Managed to get ours flat out for the first time ever, hit just over 30 knots (35 mph) at sea with a full load of adults and kids and could have fiddled a bit more with the trim - not bad for an American lake boat rated at 40mph.

Inevitable people messing about riding the wakes in the harbour entrance

If he hadn't have landed it ok we would have run over him in the water.

Those not so early to rise found the wind had increased a touch

nice pictures!!

we had a lovely run from hamble to Yarmouth on friday evening, flat calm and last of the evening sun! some nice boats in Yarmouth, V65 looked lovely and a Phantom 46 with a swedish ensign too!!

having had more than a few drinks in yarmouth for the evening and staying at a nice B&B we got back to the boat with a MASSIVE headache!

headed down to the needles to find some waves but there was nothing.....

Mrs Z1ppy is still building her confidence so when she agreed to go back to hamble the long way around the back of the island it was an opportunity not to be missed.

lovely conditions around the back of the island and sat at a relaxed cruise of 37 kts until the forts came into view.

seemed to be millions of sailing boats out on saturday but the odd MOBO out playing.

Saturday morning was without doubt the best weather of the weekend down here.

annoyingly we dont have any pictures for you. first real trip of the season for us and got most things but camera was sat on the kitchen side!!

next weekends weather looks ok at the moment but frustratingly we are dog sitting for someone so will have to watch the sun from the comefort of our back garden!!

Yep, the V65 did look nice, rather dwarfed the V48 behind. We were on the opposite pontoon as we didn't get on the walk-ashore, Y'mouth seemed to fill up quickly Fri evening. Also had too much vino sat in the late evening sun, so we could have held our heads in tandem on Sat morning!

opps! Didn't see you! Sorry! to be honest, after a pretty rubbish week I just wanted to get to the bar to relax. Reckon within 30 mins of arriving we were sat in shananigans with some drinks and that was that. Tried to slip out quietly in the morning as I know we smoke a bit when it's cold and there was a lovely sailing boat next to us with very friendly people and dog on board!

Will try and be more observant next time and buy you a dring to celebrate the new boats!

I think yarmouth is fast becoming my overnight spot of choice now!

We had a good excuse...

for not being out there this weekend:

The rudders are being dropped to replace their stocks:
