this subject has probably been covered before:
ive used :
cheops.fm for radio plays and audio books in english.
h33t.com for audio books
librivox for audio books.

is there any other free web sites?
im finding listening to a famous actor reading a book is stimulating while sailing/relaxing.

any thoughts?
 
Itunes is free software even if you don't have an ipod and there are podcasts galore there, not sure about plays etc but lots of bbc radio (in our time, from our own correspondant etc). Just checked, i've got 7.5 days of speech in there...

mininova is excellent for latest releases. often old files are re-released too.
pirate bay is ok and often has navigation updates.
trying to build library so theres something to listen too on non sailing days.
sending a PM too.
 
A word of caution about Limewire, much of the stuff available does not have copyrights so you could get some sharp customs person jump on you if they are looking to make trouble. It can also be a virilant source of viruses. There has been a recent case in UK of one of these 'community' resource site doing film and TV that got busted and the controllers sent to prison. As far as I know now users got cought but only because it wasn't worth it/wasnt possible to track them.

better hide the biros from the library, argos and surgery. the old envelopes with tax department embossed on, must place them next to shredder.

keep a lookout for hovering black helicopters-paronia!
