Just wondering if other East Coaster's use the marine forecast given on 729, 765, and 1530 MW.

I have even received it in Holland .

It is produced by Weatherquest which I believe is based at the UEA in Norwich.

I have found it as good as anything for local sailing.

Yes. Would be interested to get some feed back.

For info:

Forecasts are 0740hrs, 0840hrs, 1740hrs,1840hrs.

They often run late because of the editorials so keep listening if you feel you can.

The forecast is for Harwich to the Pool of London and 12 miles offshore.

This evening's forecast is W or SW 4 to 5.

The BBC coastal is Westerly or southwesterly 5 to 7, occasionally gale 8 at first, decreasing 4 at times later.

It is generally a lot less than the BBC coastal forecast which is probably why I am trying to convince myself that it is a better forecast and I can still go sailing.

I forget what the forecast was on Saturday, but decided to go sailing anyway. On the wind, I had two reefs in the main and a a fair chunk of jib in and enjoyed a cracking sail. It was certainly 20 knots at times and everyone on the water seemed to be smiling.

Shame that there were not many boats about.
