Not happy with just being Raconteur, Sage and Agony aunt , now appears you have added clairvoyance to your range of skills !! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Lowering Radar Arch = What is cheapest way to get my boat to SoFrance?

Still better than my answers which would have been :-
Squat/Sink or Wait for tide to go out.

Re: not Impressive

I have to confess, I'd worked that out.

Still To answer question. Why not cut off with saw and refit with hinges..

Re: Trucking it

My guess would be that lowloader will cost £6195 inc VAT, for a good quality service. I spect a mod to hinge the radar arch might cost £1500 at a boatyard, more if hydraulic

Re: incomplete figures

but then he'l have either a boat in s ofF, or a sawnoffhingey boat in the uk, not in france. So, tons of diesel and work and fenders to be bort to reach s france, whereupon arrives in france with nanky hingeified boat. Perhaps best to saw offthe radar arch in honfleur, secure everything with gaffer tapes and ropes, and Mr GRP to bodge it up on arrival. Though this not as good as a truck imho.

Re: incomplete figures

Not for me to say this ..... BUT ...

Beginning to look cheaper to sell here and then buy there.

..ALSO I am amazed (or am I?) at how differently boats are specced in Med compared to UK.
