Fitting a new radar to a gantry. The gantry has fitted a few aerials, gps etc and will be in radar beams "firing line". When in operation will the radar effect the signal to these aerials, operation of the kit at the other end, fry the aerials or anything else. Question is do I need to remount the aerials out of the beams "firing line" ?

Thanks

Peter

I think I would. Even though the other things operate at different frequencies, that's still a lot of energy for them to pick up.

It's often a problem on military aircraft where antennas are close to each other. Your boat will be similar, you'll need to shield the other antennas from the radar by remounting I think.

ps having said that I've seen a number of boats that mount everything on top of the gantry. Maybe you should try it out?
