Help needed locating Hose barbs for the above filter, I need a couple of 90' barbs but are confused as to the filters port sizes, from what I have read I think the filter ports are probably 9/16 UNF, researching suggests these are Racor specific.

I'm in the process of gathering various components to build a fuel polishing system with the FG500 being used as the primary filter, (inspired by the recent thread) I thought I would give it a go, I have the FG500 and many of the parts already, just need the hose barbs, either that or adaptors to convert to 1/4 NPT.

Appreciate any advice.

You might find it easier to use an adaptor to screw into the 9/16", to convert it to a more common size -
Halfway down this page http://www.asap-supplies.com/search/fuel+fitting/racor-threaded-adapters
eg 1/2"bsp to 9/16" unf male, or 3/8" to 9/16":

Here in the Solent I would pop into Hyphose. Perhaps give them a call - they do mail order.

They are the local Racor stockits and have a huge supply of fittings (at a good price) in stock. They should be able to provide you what you want in a single fitting.

They have a phone number at the top of the page.

If postage is ridiculous (compared with fittings costs).. let me know and I could pop in and pick up a couple of the threaded/90degree/barbed fittings.

I'm expecting to head to Falmouth at some point this weekend and could drop them off on the way past...

Thanks Guys

Cheers Guys,thanks for the contacts
I knew it couldn't be too difficult, many thanks for the offer Martin, unfortunately were not in Torquay this weekend (180 miles away)but if your ever passing and were around call in for a coffee.

Someone suggested Pirtek, the hydraulic hose people, we have a branch local so will give them a go over the weekend.

Will make a post once the project is completed, and take a few in build photo's along with the first use results.
