I have a friend, no its not me honest!.
He has just been told by his insurance company that they will no longer insure him on account of too many rather large claims made in the last five years due to an active and enthusiastic racing programme.

Does anybody have any pointers to companies prepared to negotiate even with a relatively poor risk, to provide some kind of insurance, be it cruising only or some other constrained form of insurance?

At the current state, it looks like he will have to sell the boat, as you cant even keep it on a mooring without insurance in the Hamble area.

Ah, so it's you I have to blame!! My premiums are typically £35 for the Laser, £200+ for the Int 14. (and they don't want to listen when I tell them it's a classic 14 without the asymmetric). So I'm the one who's been paying for all those masts.

Bet you claim for a new set of sails each year. Sell the Boat - or get a job and pay your way /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
