New Marine Chart Provider (Quo new in charts?)
Mapyx, who have a good name in maps for good value and a very good and free PC program, have announced they are releasing marine charts soon. It will be interesting to see how they do it as you can just download the individual OS 'tiles' you need of their land-maps at very good rates. They'd have to do some work on Quo -their mapping program, to make it useful for navigation, but they have a solid history with aeroplane stuff and their OS stuff seems well regarded -used by rescue, police and so forth. One to watch perhaps, especially if cruising ground is limited and they offer low-cost localised cruising area charts.
