Quite Sexy, for a Cat anyway !.......

Hi N. Yup, not bad looking for a cat. 75 feet? Got any interior shots or other details? Where are those pics taken? Australasia?

Unberthable in the Med, alas, width-wise

Hi J, Pics taken in Brazil would you believe, designed and built there I believe too. Agree non starter for the Med but probably do OK in the US.

Could do with some better under water lighting though!

Well, I love Med, but could do with one of those in Angra dos Reis, all year round.
I'd have some ideas for a local crew, either... :)

Australian builder Innovation Power Cats made a lovely looking 58 fb cat a few years ago. Sadly their website is down so I guess they are no more.

Sorry J, forgot to answer your question.

72'
2 X CAT C32's
37 knots top end
43 Tons

Launched last year.

Here is another of theirs on the drawing board. Not a Cat this time, bit of a look of a small Palmer Johnson at 74 '.

It's always a problem with cats in that they have to be built light to perform and often suffer in terms of perceived finish in comparison to monohulls. The other issue is often that the builder comes from a sailing cat background where the market is not so demanding in terms of luxury and finish. This one looks OK though. I have to say though that, in my limited experience of manufactured goods coming out of Brazil, the engineering and build quality is often poor

Have to agree that this looks great and would probably take on the RedJet! ;)

Interesting that the pics are mostly profile and don't show fore/aft hull gap and water clearance as cats can get slammy in a sea and at speed.

Sorry Jez, that red Australian one had a branch of the ugly tree sticking out of its ear. :(

Eye of the beholder and all that.

Think it looks like a phantom in profile.

Anyway, the only real way to get significant performance improvements out of a planing power cat is to use hydrofoils. Placed between the hulls these can give significant lift though I dont know how they cope with rough weather.

Actually, it depends on what kind of performances you're talking about.
Hydrofoils are only good to improve the performance of low performance cats, so to speak.
When it comes to real speed, they just add drag. These guys even went for a canard wing instead. 'Nuff said...!

Thanks. Interior not great. (Also, the photographer has done it no favours). And yes, some better u/w lights would be useful but they're easily retro-fitted :)

That other one looks very Palmer Johnson copied as you say
