Quiet in Holland

On Thursday 16th we went from Leiden to Gouda via the old Rhine
without seeing another yacht going our way. A few small motor boats and one yacht heading North. We had to phone at some bridges to ask for them to open. We managed to sneak through the Gouda rail bridge with a ship, ( not sure we should have done that but it saved a long wait)
Yesterday (Saturday) we did Gouda to Willemstad locks completely alone, even at Alblasserdam and Dordrecht rail bridge.
Is it normally this quiet? I know the school hols are over but it is still August.

But the weather has been shite. Sitting here in Urk listening to the wind howling outside.

Quite a bit of movement in Breskens on thursday/friday and in the Oosterschelde over the weekend. Probably lots of people going home on sunday.

Sailed into Schevinengen at 9pm this evening. Lots on the visitors pontoons. Maybe waiting for the SW 5-6 to blow through!
