quiet generator

Not sure why hes done that, the exhaust is the noisiest thing on these little engines.

Edit:

Just thought of something, the black rubber feet on the Honda can make a mess on pristine white non slip, may be its done to avoid this ?

generators are noisy because of the vibration

I spotted this in another place

I myself think they are devices that should be used with extreme caution - not for the sake of safety but because of the neighbours

Neat solution!
Honda's are the quietest gennys.
Much of the noise is at lower frequencies - which has been damped down by the bungee cord.
The danger is more with where the gas bottle is stored.

the rated dB for that genny is 53 - 59. Now have a look at this spreadsheet to see what that means in practical terms.

It's a lot less than the average office.

I, but that will be on the slow setting, plug in a water heater and the genny speeds up and makes much more noise.

We put ours on a door mat to keep down the vibration and stop the black rubber feet marking the deck. Would never have thought about stringing it up in the rigging
