I've been looking through the BES catalogue and have come across the quick release nozzle. Fitting one would make switching to new camping Gaz bottle much easier, as I could have both bottles connected to a regulator and hose and just do a quick swap with the connection to the gas line. I would also be able to replace a used bottle more easily. However, I'm a bit nervous about using such a connection. Has anyone fitted one?
At the moment I just unscrew the regulator from one bottle in the two bottle metal container and connect it to the second bottle. It seemed fine in theory but I found it very tricky to reach into the cockpit locker and spin the Gaz bottle around in the semi dark, and to ensure that the regulator was seated properly and fully tightened. I don't think that fitting a changeover system is on as the only space in the gas bottle container for the regulator is on top of the bottle. One other option might be to fit a "Y" connection into the gas line and a longer hose to each bottle to make changing bottles easier to handle, if there is room. It would have helped if the gas bottle container had been made a little bigger, but hindsight is a wonderful thing!
