Trying to do some passage planning without almanacs or charts.. tricky ..

How far is it from Cherbourg to:-

1)Brixham
2)Plymouth
3)Falmouth

Cherbourg to Falmouth is 138 nautical miles according to the 1998 almanac. Alsoi gives Cherbourg to Plymouth breakwater as 107nm, Torbay as 88nm. Brixham not mentioned.
You'll have to make allowances for tectonic drift since 1998, of course.

1) as ra crow flies and going straight over berry head 86
2) giving start point left hand doon a bit, 105
3) door to door but watch oot fer cap de la hague 133

Looking at my Neptune passage planner, best time to leave Cherbourg for Brixham on Sat 1st is 0500/0600,
Best time for Plymouth 0800/0900 and Falmouth is 0600-0900.

Do you want a virtual sail there first?
We could go in convoy then...

Och go on ... Northerly 14knots, lets head for Falmouth leave the Grande Rade via westerly entrance 8:30am ..

I'm out of the entrance and proceeding in a westerly direction...
I'll put a few turns on the Genny and Main to keep the speed down...
Ah yes, thats Cap de la Hague lighthouse and there's Alderney.
Just nip down and put in a log entry.

Ok Now, using the topping lift as a halyard. Full sail set and making 6.5 knots at 310 through the water and 11knots 270 COG kettles on.

Sorry to hear about the main halyard...you'll have to send a boy up the mast to sort it...
I've just unfurled the spanker and the forward royals...
Cracking along nicely, must be nearly half way...
Time to hang a line over the side, see if we can catch something in the few minutes left before we arrive...

That'll be me then...
A tow would be just the ticket...
On second thoughts let me shake the reefs out first..
Thats better - up to the normal cruising speed of 18 knots now...
mmmmmmmm nice rooster...
