Quick question about two engine use on the Thames

I can give you a few!

1/ It cuts engine hours between locks (Which may or not matter to you!?)
2/ It reduces noise levels (Varies from boat to boat I accept!)
3/ It reduces wash somewhat (Quite a lot on mine!)
4/ It reduces fuel consumption (Not by 50%, but on mine, because I checked, around 25%)

Bear in mind it may also reduce power steering to zero on some sterndrive boats, and hot water to zero on most of them, it may or may not suit everyone, but if we leave the Marina with a full tank of hot water, I don't run that engine, but when we leave the moorings requiring some, I DO run that engine....which nis a win-win situation!
