I'm trying to replace the anode and heating element in my Quick B3 boiler but having trouble getting the old one out as there is an earthing stud right alongside the 55mm hexagonal nut. I've tried various tools and so far not found a suitable tool to go over the 55mm nut to unscrew the element.

Put another nut on to tighten together then undo the stun then box spanner take out element , the stud won’t go into the tank.

If you look on the AWANUI NZ YOU TUBE channel, he has just done this job, think he said it was a Toyota steering wheel spanner, looks inexpensive
I follow Mark on Awanui NZ closely and his boiler is not the same. I have just purchased a 55mm box spanner from Amazon which arrived to tonight. Will have a go with that tomorrow.

If all else fails, maybe take an angle grinder to a cheap box spanner to make a suitable slot for the earthing stud and turn it one flat at a time?

Job done using a half height 55mm thin wall box spanner and water pump pliers. Anode completely gone. So have replaced the complete element and anode.
