We have questions as to how to train our boat dog and cat. We understand that the cat will be using a box for bm and the dog has a small astro turf mat to go on. Our questions involve how else to train them. Are we overlooking anything when we train our pets? Any suggestions for us? We appreciate any and all advice.

Thanks!

Toilet Training for dogs.

I have always trained my dogs to pee against a forward stanchion.
First collect some other dogs pee[don't ask how-it's the only difficcult bit in the whole process]. Then ensure dog is full to bursting by giving it a bowl of milk which is a great treat and always completely lapped up. You then pour the collected pee on the spot you want used, and encourage your dog up there and praise on the first and subsequent performances. Easier with dogs than bitches and I have always installed this early in our ownership of either animal or boat. Also start when settled at anchor. Most urine goes over the side but is easily washed off in any case.
I also allow the dog to swim early on in its life, [it does not need a life jacket], and it can then swim ashore to do whatever and also swim back to the boat, clean. Current and last dogs have also has been taught to climb the stern ladder unaided too - so no need to get wet yourself.
Saves getting the dinghy out!

Sorry if you have heard this before, I tend to post this comment on all doggy on board threads.

Have a friend in Turkey, his Jack Russel loves boats, he loves fenders too.
As soon as you set sail he will drag them all aboard, then check his handy work, and put them all back over board again.
He will then check his handy work at putting them overboard and then start dragging them back in again.
This will be repeated until we get back to the marina. Trick is to get back in when he is just finishing his putting them back overboard cycle.

Its Spam folks.

Yes they appear to be legit and doing good work but they are posting this message multiple times on different boards in multiple threads.

You'll never get a reply to your responses.
