Hi!

Q1: I have two waterpump breakers on the panel under the lower helm (where the 220 volt fuses etc are). One of the waterpumps is for the domestic/fresh water, but what does the other one do?

Its in a block of three, water 1, water 2, waste.

Q2: The port side water heater seems to have developed a leakage around the red box on top of it, I assume its the heater unit. Can it be repair or is it just to swap out the heater and put in a new one? Any one that knows the size in liters of the standard water heater fitted?

I never found out what the other pump breaker does - sealine probably designed the switch panel for a variety of options I (and probably you) don't have.

the red unit on top of the hot water tank is an immersion heater. If its heating hot water up using shore power or genny then its working OK and you just have a bit of a leak. They unscrew with a big immersion heater spanner. In the UK we can buy the removal tool very cheap in hardware stores. I guess similar in Sweden.

If you need a new immersion heater you need to take it out and measure the length of the heater. In the UK you can order them from ASAP Supplies. get a couple of over pressure release valves (valve on top of the hot water tank with a red knob on it) too as they tend to fail if it gets really cold and with age. When you refit it just use PTFE tape around the thread and a spot of grease and it should seal fine.

My water 2 switch does nothing either, I would guess it is there for a second water pump if required.

If the leak is from the cylinder, after draining it,if you clean up the copper around the leak it can be repaired with solder,leak will have been caused by corrosion so this is not a long term fix.

The boiler on our ex-F37 developed a similar leak. Locating the leak proved very difficult due to the insulation foam but was most likely corrosion related so we ended up replacing it with a new Volvo QL boiler. It fitted only just as there was very little space above the unit. This shouldn't be a problem in you case, judging by the pictures.

looks like either a leak at the immersion heater joint or you may have a corrosion leak at the neck joint. a good plumber should be able to braise the joint (soldering but use brass instead of tin/lead alloy)
