Question Re Absorption Fridge?

Just arrived at boat. Hooked up our old steed of a 3 way fridge, only to be overpowered by what smelt like Chlorine or Ammonia gas!!! I'm guessing that's the actual coolant gas leaked out???? Pity they don't sink;-)

Its likely a dilution of ammonia - very bad smell of a wet baby's nappy. It will vent away naturally without a residue, and in high concentration is toxic, but if you can smell it at that level you would not want to do so for very long. Doubt it would be repairable.
