Question about painting decks with masonry paint

Bigwows deck has been painted with Sandtex for the last 23yrs, During that time I must have saved £100's over using Interdeck, or similar.

Presumably on a ferrp-cement boat, otherwise why would you consider doing such a thing?

Presumably you know something about the make-up of masonry paint that makes it unsuitable for use on decks? Can you share this knowledge with us? Or is it just the absence of the word 'marine' on the tin?

I am planning on using International interdeck on the deck, Do you think I can apply this on top of Toplac ?. I want to have a smooth finish on the edges of the deck and then apply nonslip in masked of areas. In terms of primer I was going to give the deck a coat of pre kote.

you will need to flatten the toplac, i brush apply interdeck & DO NOT stipple it, that is just far too rough a surface for me

Didn't PBO do a group test on this topic a year or two ago? Involved painting a series of planks and then getting people to walk up and down them at increasing angles.
From memory, "you get what you pay for" seemed to sum it up. Sandtex was harder to keep clean, IIRC. Kiwi Grip did very well but was in a price league.
