Queensborough help please

AFAIK it is first come first served, there is an area marked reserved for Elite Sailing at one end of the new pontoon, but the rest is OK to use, with rafting allowed. The inside berths have been let o permanent berth holders though.

This may be out of date but what we were told by the HM when we were there earlier this summer.

Thanks Leigh, that's what I thought, looking at the web cams, there are several boats on the pontoon tonight, but I can't see the visitors buoys..... The website indicates that the trot boat is still operating at weekends .....

That's all correct. Suggest you call up first rather than just go alongside ('Sheppey One', Ch 08). Visitor buoys are still there. It's been pretty busy there lately and could well be this weekend with a good forecast.
By the way it's Queenborough, there's no 's' in it.

I think you may be right about the busyness looking at the Webcams :(

( my wife already spotted the superfluous 's')

Quite fancy Queensborough this weekend, what are the rules for the 'All Tide Pontoon'

Hello Boz,

Pontoon is first come first served....berthing on the channel side for visitors, expecting a busy weekend but we can raft up to 5 out(depending on weather) and there are plenty of buoys. Trot boat is running at weekends up until end of October, last boat 21:30. Pontoon is quite busy tonight if you see webcam.

A new recent addition is we now have an electronic keypad for the turnstyle entrance, the number, which will be changed weekly, will be issued to visitors and is free. The token mechanism still works also, all the latest info is available here http://queenborough-harbour.co.uk/ and is updated regularly.

Phil.

Thanks Phil - will try to make it tomorrow, but when I arrived at the boat today, found the anchor winch not working, turned out to be a 3 hour fix which scuppered the planned move down river to the Roach to give me the correct tide tomorrow... we'll see how it pans out tomorrow :)
