We will watch with interest. Do you anticipate the full range of facilities including shore power, water and fuel?

One thing at a time Maby!

I'll settle for a working ATL and hammerhead to start!

Nice video too QHT chaps.

With over 1500 visitor nights recorded last season and approx 5000 visitors using the free trot boat service would indicate that Queenborough is popular. But if you prefer to swing around a buoy in stangate creek that is entirely your choice sir.
I think most people would agree that Queenborough is a nice place to visit and strategically positioned for onward transit to London the East Coast and the Continent.
You can view our latest harbour video made for this years London Boat Show here if you don't know Queenborough very well!

Phil - didn't intend to have a pop at Queenborough - I know how popular it is - which can also translate to "busy" at times. Nothing wrong with that! I just meant to express a preference for my own anchor, cooking and refreshment in a quiet, free spot just around the corner.

Our club had a jaunt down river t'other Sunday. We got ashore on the slip just above the ATL which then means hoiking dinghy up a bit, or even under sea wall in token attempt to hide it. Pick a buoy close to the slip and it's only rowing distance, so can leave outboard on board.
We used the Flying Dutchman - the carvery was ok but verdict was that beer not looked after proper. So maybe Old House at Home is better choice for smaller numbers.

Is the all tide landing in working order QHT chaps??

I'm not up to speed with what's what in the land of Queenborough at the moment, any recent visitors info appreciated.

Need to know if it's a pub tea or boat BBQ this weekend!

Would also like to know - potentially have visitors with dogs for the weekend and we can't come down river if there is nowhere to land them - the poor things will be crossing their legs!

I've got some left over floor tiles with a very funky grass pattern you can borrow if you get stuck....

Hello Dave...will be a boat BBQ this weekend i'm afraid mate.I believe repairs are starting on the ATL next week!Unless you use the causeway of course!

Hmmm, not optimistic about those dogs being taken in by a bit of deep pile green carpet! If the ATL is coming back on-line in the next few weeks, I think we'll keep the trip out short this weekend and go for the longer runs later.

By the way, which was the other pier that is opening soon round the Medway?

Sun Pier in Chatham?

Turn left out the marina past the dockyard and head for Staples office superstore in the corner of the bend in the river. The pontoon is fixed and working and the ramp in place. I'll drive past on my way home and see if there's access ashore yet.

I've landed at one of the others nearby (Ship Pier?) to get into Rochester High St for 10 mins. Wouldn't leave the boat on it for too long and plenty of fenders required.

Near HW you should clear the shopping trolleys on the bottom....:-)

You could never get Shifty under that bridge, could you?

It's not as far as that mate. Staples on your port side in front of you on the left. Right hand of Sun Pier a 100 m or so.

Brings you out opposite the sex shop in the Chatham end of Rochester High St.

Which wasn't where I was going.....

Ah, know the one you mean - it's pretty short, though, isn't it? Only enough water close to high tide!

Maby - my recon mission to the land of Sun Pier didn't go as well as planned!

On approach via the riverside gardens walking with my daughter we bumped into drunk person having a pee in the middle of the path.....

A 'situation' developed which involved being challenged to a punch up and followed for 100 yards or so by a foul mouthed no mark. Doing the sensible thing - rising above it and walking away - isn't always the most satisfying outcome.

I'd give it a miss!
