Queenborough Buoys

I was in Queenborough recently and found that the visitors buoys now have nice new pick up lines. If I was carping, I would say they are a bit short and the eye-splices are a bit little, but as I'm not carping, it makes picking up these rather low-lying buoys (esp when the tide is running strongly - they virtually submarine) much easier to pick up, and shows someone at Queenborough is making an effort to improve the place.

Back on the Q'boro buoys yesterday, and heard from them what knows that the pick up lines were removed a couple of years ago because someone got tangled in one and pulled over the side into the drink and proceeded to try and sue the council, who promptly had the lines removed. They have changed their minds now (prob due to user pressure) but that is why the lines are so short. Strange world.
