Coverage on BBC breakfast was good. Plenty of live footage. Not difficult to see why nobody else will be going in or out the harbour when she is leaving or returning. Would have been interesting to have some aerial footage to show how the carrier is lined up with the new navigation lights/marks and how tight it is.

The thing that is important is having working hulls available which would take many years to build from scratch.
Then, if trouble crops up in the next fifty years we can work out a way of using them to best effect.

Spare a thought for those of us that will have to negotiate our way past her from Fareham when she's laid up on the Rame Head moorings in 2067 awaiting being towed to the scrapyard - and they've demolished Fort Blockhouse and most of Gosport to make way for her successor, the Queen Kate.

I'll be 110, so it may not be a concern for me, of course.....

One of my crew took these this morning on our way out of the harbour, apparently they are offset from the channel so they line up in the bridge of QE
