Does anyone have any thoughts/impressions about marina operators Quay marinas? They've bought over the marina where my boat is. Glam online sites - but I don't know much about them.
If Portishead is typical then they are great. Not cheap but professional and nice with it.
We were there from 2003 - 2006 and I realise now how good they were.
We are at Conwy, we were there prior to Quay taking over. We have found them to be fair and resonable, any issues have been dealt with quickly and efficiently to our satisfaction. They actively encourage and support the independant bertholders association and act proactively on any reccomendations. When I or neighbours have needed emergency or out of hours lifts/hoists we have had them. I am sure that a lot like any service business a lot will depend on the quality of the manager.
Just talked to them today at Conwy. The antifoul twats that were supposed to organise the boat in, just plainly told lies and said it would be in Monday, without even asking the marina. The marina have changed all there plans and are shifting about eight boats about, just so they can get at mine and put it in Friday.
This sounds good. They've got plans to rebuild the marina, starting with the breakwaters. They've kept on the existing staff, which is good because they seem to be reasonable people. Thanks all.
Royal quays at north shields is the best on the east coast went in one night put through the lock by the time I Got to berth the lock operator had come down 4 flights of stairs and was waiting to take my lines always clean and tidy
well, the marina where we are now, has been virtually re built by quays in the time we have been there. I'm sure its been very difficult for the marina staff, but they have been very good in protecting us from whats going on. Dreadging & 9 boats in front of us out of the water, has been happily sorted to, we are now in the water & going boating tom. Think you will be happy with Quays.
I think Conwy are very worried about loosing customers, with all the troubles they have had. They did ask if I was staying next year, before agreeing to shift all the boats. I thort I'd better say that I was. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
