I'm thinking of getting my boat taken out the water at Quay Lane this year (1.7m fin). However, I've heard there may be some tidal restrictions on getting boats out here-anyone able to confirm?
Thanks.

Their prices are very reasonable and they are very helpful, but there isn't much water in the approach and you'll probably need a Spring tide.
But why not phone the yard (02392 524214) for details, not waste Forum space? This isn't a kindergarden you know!

There are currently 21036 other members whom, if they had the information, would be more than happy to help. Unfortunately, I don't happen to have that info but I hope that a more knowledgeable member will be along shortly.

It's a forum where anyone can ask for advice and information, and not everyone knows how to search the internet or other information sources as some do. Leave off the derogatory comments.

It would also help if the 2 hour editing period was taken away, as many when queried about their 'robust' answer, will edit it to make it look a lot more reasonable, or change the subject completely

10 minutes is fine to check spelling or other errors

2 hour editing period

[/ QUOTE ] I thought it was only 1 hour but your argument is still valid except that I also thought you could not edit a post once it had been replied to. Perhaps that was the last version of the forum or maybe thats the owners association message board.

This just the sort of pathetic and juvenile reply that gives forums like this a bad name.

Keep the questions coming - if you don't ask, you'll never learn.

Cheers

I have used Quay lane a number of times and would recommend as it's a friendly yard that welcomes DIYers. It's also very secure at night with guard dog etc. The downside is that you need to be lifted at high water, preferably springs.

Give them a try.

Cheers, G

Hi Rob
The access is very restricted for deep keelers like you. Try a 'wet' dry run before you commit yourself. Also if you can have a look from the yard itself at low water to see the channel. That said they are a friendly bunch and well worth a visit.
