Quarter berth to storage?

I agree with Boathook and I would sort out that wiring first. I would be worried about snagging it getting stuff in and out and damaging the wiring connections
Yeah totally agree. The wiring is a total mess, but the main one, that black coax, runs to the thru-hull log, which refuses to work! So not that critical..

Wiring very easily and quickly tidied out of the way by buying a length of that spiral cable tidy stuff (various diameters available cheaply in black or white), and clipping it up along the length of that corner.

(Various more glamorous and time/money consuming solutions also available for those who don't actually want to go sailing. 😁)

My back just couldn't stand up to crawling into that space again to do so! And yeah, come Easter we just wanted to sail!!

It certainly does look tight a space to sleep in....if I got in there, I would have to pee in your petrol canister using the flexible spout...because I don’t think I could ever get out😳

A very useful series of books. Of great value to practical boatowners.

Now it just so happens, that I have a full set I don't need anymore... 😉
Is there more than one book? I looked at Amazon and only one is listed there. Maybe that is a collection of the magzine articles. I did have a collection of ones cut out from the magazine, but like Refueler they didn't survive the end of a relationship!

Yeah, I know that sort of feeling!

Having looked more closely I see there are already supporting self-adhesive 'eyes' already in place along the length of the corner. When you are feeling braver/less stiff it would be the work of just a few minutes to collect the existing wires in a spiral wrap, and then clip that to the eyes using, say, cable ties.

Take a cushion in with you to support your head while facing what you're doing. (And then to support your head while you're still in there head first and having a celebratory snooze before extricating yourself. :D )

You say no to cockpit locker .... but my 25ft boat - a previous owner cut the stbd 1/4 berth in half by adding a bulkhead. This then became the fwd bulkhead of the cockpit locker ... the locker extending lower of course for depth.
The half berth left in cabin is the location for the cool-box to stand ...
Actually that's worth some thought... I might see if I could make some access via the transom locker.

I'm actually considering renaming the boat 'Ouchie'. Even on a good day I've usually cut myself, grazed my skin, banged my head, or all three, within about 10 minutes! The joy of a small boat without standing headroom!

I was hoping for a better solution. I've thought of that, but access is a pain. It doesn't really show in the photo, but the timber at the bottom is the side of the unit housing the stove, so quite a tight space.
An asortment of different size boxes?

Smallest aft, largest forward.

But if you can't utilise boxes, then all I can suggest is an assortment of bags.

As friends put it, 'We all don't fold up as easily as we used to'!

(They said that while trying to persuade me and my then partner to upsize from our 17' 3" yacht, observing us from their relatively palatial 32 footer, but looking back on their youth when they'd spent 3 years living on a 20 footer!)

There were 5 books in the series, entitled 'Boatowner's Sketch Book' by Dick Everitt

Here's the page showing the train of boxes (actually washing-up bowls) mentioned by Refueler

I watched The Great Escape last night....so my idea would be track with a dolly on it that you can pull along with string

I'd be thinking along the lines of a galley...get rid of cushions, long box on rollers/runners that houses 2 burner stove or the like and space for cutlery etc etc which can be rolled back out of the way once your fed...existing galley kit could be used and you've freed up space elsewhere
