Hi everyone,

I was wondering if there are any bright ideas for converting quarter berths into storage spaces, non-permanently. I've seen a lot of posts, articles etc were people have converted to a cockpit accessible locker, but I don't want to do anything that can't be undone and also would rather spend my time on sailing and maintenance than fancy projects. Although I also don't think simply ramming everything into the quarter berth is satisfactory. I did see this which is more what I had in mind but I'd like to get more in there. Perhaps stackable plastic boxes with a brace to stop them moving about?

Exactly what I use, but in a double aft cannot with split matress. Fitted lee cloth to keep boxes in place.

Me too, I've taken the matress out, lay a piece of ribbed carpet (off cut from floor). I have used a series of light weight fold-down fabric boxes for storage.

Knowing what's where is more than half the battle so keep a record of some description. This could be simple lists, spreadsheet, visual drawing, whatever works for you...
