Quark qk-a028 ais reciever

Has anyone any experience of the quark qk a028 ais nmea2k receiver?

QK-A028 AIS receiver and AS04 GPS receiver bundle - Quark-elec - NMEA 2000 & Marine electronics

Looking for something to add ais data to my nmea 2k network to display targets on a simrad chartplotter,and this seems like it'll do the trick quite simply.

Or should I be looking at something else?

Or if anyone knows of a good value ais transceiver, that might be worth considering

I’ve had 2….absolutely mustard. Helpful technical too

Wifi one is good if you use navionics on a iPad too…gives much faster gps info compared to internal and shows ais on the iPad

Did you connect it to the boats main VHF antenna,if so what splitter did you use?

Or if a dedicated antenna for the receiver, what did you use? I'm wondering if I can get away with a small stubby antenna.

I’ve done it via a small stubby and a separate full size. Both worked well. I’d go the small stubby and get it up high.
