In response to my question "The advert says you are acting as broker for the sale - is this correct? "

I received the reply "we are both the broker and the owner of the boat"

I don't understand what difference this makes to a prospective purchaser, and whether its an important distinction. Can someone please advice?

thanks

Is this a stock boat within a brokerage? For example I purchased mine from NYA who were both owner and broker.

Surely that makes it a trade sale meaning that you get additional protections?

I believe you may get a warranty of 3 months for a trade sale. Be careful about the VAT status - it may have been reclaimed if it was a boat run by a business.
