Errr. . . . excuse my noobism but exactly what advantages do the jets confer over outdrives/props?

As for having a go - you'll be welcome as you can show me how to drive it!!!!!

You'll have to be patient though as I am moving to the south coast towards the end of 2004 and won't be buying it until then!
