QHM NavWarn - yacht lost mast and upper rigging

1. A yacht has lost its mast and upper rigging North East from the main passage through the Submerged Barrier in position 50° 46’.300’ N 001° 04’.038 W and a white fender is marking the location.
2. Small craft should be vigilant if navigating in this vicinity."

Anybody know what happened?

Can’t see myself wanting to navigate anywhere near that particular part of the barrier. Perhaps they hit it? Although I don’t know why that would bring the mast down.

Possibly the rig went down before that location. It obviously takes time to get everything ready to drop over the side.

Or they hit it ?
