Very excited - took delivery of my new stackaway from the good people at Quay Sails today. Any tips on fitting it?

If you have a sail with a bolt rope the stack away will have a thin nylon strip down the middle. I find it best to slide both on together. Once in place you can tug the stack away along so it covers the sail properly. Two person job, one pulling and one feeding.

If you have a loose fitted main then the stack is on sail slides and it is easier.

Thanks. Loose footed, with sliders on the luff. Would you put the main on and then put the battens in, put the battens in as the main is loaded, or put the battens in beforehand? Battens for the main, not the stackaway that is.

Re the lazy jacks - i have two options: a. Cut at the high point, ie above the spready car things and use that as a mouse for the new, or b. Mouse the old, take it all off and use the new mouse to pull the new lazy jacks through. Thoughts?

I would put the stackaway in place, then the sail and then the battens. Once the sail battens are in it all becomes a bit cumbersome.

I'd use the old lazyjacks to pull the new ones through. Sew them end on end and a bit of tape to cover and go gently as the join goes round the blocks.
